McDermott Ventures Hiring Account Executive
Responsibilities:
Assist with management of multiple communications/public affairs clients in the areas of media, community, government relations.
Facilitate communication between clients and the project team by documenting needs and clarifying requirements with clients, as well as coordinating with the project team to ensure works is completed in a timely manner.
Generate Marketing/public relations/strategic communications plans.
Primary responsibility for client’s media relations
Write press releases, media advisories, by-line articles and other collateral material for client positioning.
Generate and pitch articles to traditional and new media.
Interface with City Hall, State House and elected officials.
Attend and report on morning (before work) and night meetings (after work).
Drive and manage relationships for purposes of business development.
Manage/participate in McDermott Ventures on-line/community marketing/ public relations efforts.
Management of company databases.
Manage day-to-day operations of small business, serving as main contact to numerous vendors.
Some administrative responsibilities, including coordinating meetings, scheduling, errands, research, document preparation and organization.
Relevant Qualifications:
4-year college degree – Communications and/or journalism a plus.
Minimum of two years of professional work experience.
Entrepreneurial in work-ethic.
Strategic/critical thinker.
Desire to position self in the Boston business community.
Ability to attend client meetings alone
Multi-tasker with ability to self-prioritize workload with numerous projects at once.
Knowledge of internet (web based) programs: Constant Contact, Wordpress, Twitter, Linkedin, etc.
Knowledge of basic computer programs: Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, Excel.
Experience with traditional and new media (know the difference between traditional and new media)
Experience with social media business strategies.
Highly organized and able to juggle multiple projects at once while keeping calm under tight deadlines.
Independent and self motivated.
Excellent writing and proofreading skills with great attention to detail.
Thrives in small work-environments.
Knowledge of basic computer programs: Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, excel.
